MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

TEACHING IS A PART OF WHO I AM

As a little girl I always played teacher at home for my sister and brother. I would talk like the teacher and also wear my mother shoes. What I never knew was that when you become a teacher you always have to be that entertaining for your students. Sometimes you have to be a teacher , a police and also a doctor at once. You have to be strong and also have to be patient with students. Staying calm is not always easy but trying is an option.
My teaching goal is to become a teacher that every student wants, by that I mean that every student wants to be in my classroom. Teaching is a very responsible job. Why? In my opinion it is that a teacher should be well prepared before starting with a lesson, he/she should have many background information about the subject. He/she must be able to answer the questions of the students or give the correct answers .
 When I teach I believe in myself that I can do it and also that I can give a great lesson. Only when you believe in yourself you will be able to reach your goals. You have to be self patient and also have to be honest with yourself and also with students. When a student ask you a question and you can't give the correct answer just tell the student you don't know the answer. Trust is the biggest object that is built in a school year between a teacher and a student.
If I stand before my classroom I am calm and also give my lesson in a very relax way, that's how I bring my students to  be calm and also concentrate on my lesson. I see that it works and the students can make the subjects also. I entertain before my class no matter what subject I always find a way to make my lesson very interesting for my students. Giving students the feeling that only you as a teacher should talk and they should listen is not my style of teaching. They should be free for asking questions in the middle of a lesson.
Why I became a teacher is not the question for me, but the question should be do you like your job as a teacher? Yes, I love my job even when I'm sick I try to go at work. Teaching is for me the way to reach out for children who want to become something in the future and also help build up Suriname to be a better country. Help the economy to be stable.
The children of today are the golden future of tomorrow.
